West Sixth Street
New construction with
old
world charm.
What we did
- We built this new house
as the prototype for the South Dunn Street Project. A one and three quarter
story bungalow, three bedrooms and two and half baths, covered front porch
and large rear deck, This house features lots of natural light throughout.
We paid particular attention to details on this project.
- Hi-efficiency
Heating and Cooling
- Pella wood low-e
windows with aluminum clad exterior
- Structured
wiring for computers, telephones and cable
- Six inch
exterior wall construction
- We built
custom cherry
cabinets for the kitchen with walnut details. The range slides into a
peninsula that defines the family room. Lots of windows make the kitchen
airy and bright.
- One of our finish
carpenters referred to this house as a "wood museum" because of the variety
and quality of native woods used within: cherry, walnut, red oak stairs,
door and window trim, and quarter sawn white oak trim in entry, hall and
stair balusters. Cannot forget the mahogany entry door, solid pine interior
doors and cedar exterior trim.
- One final note, although
this house was the prototype, none of the South Dunn Street project houses
have the carved rafter tails or the extensive use of natural finished hard
woods. Truly a custom home.
